Avec un dénivelé : +1561m / -1561m, ce trail en semi-suffisance était pour William une bonne préparation pour le Marathon de Zermatt qui aura lieu le 7 juillet 2024. L’EXTRATRAIL LAVAUX a un tracé exigeant marqué par des points de vues à vous couper le souffle ! Imaginez de courir à travers le vignoble avec en contre-bas le Lac Léman et en face les Alpes ! N’oublions pas que le XTL est le seul trail en Europe couru dans un vignoble.

Il ne faut pas se le cacher : William a souffert durant cette course : étant d’une part entouré de coureurs beaucoup plus jeunes que lui et n’étant d’autre part pas du tout un spécialiste des trails (les descentes ont été un enfer pour lui). Cependant, il a tenu le rythme tout au long du parcours et eu l’agréable surprise d’apprendre qu’il avait gagné dans sa catégorie.

Comme indiqué plus haut, le prochain objectif est le marathon de Zermatt en juillet (13^ème participation) puis ensuite il commencera la préparation spécifique pour le marathon de Chicago le 13 octobre 2024 de manière à clôturer les 6 World Marathon Majors comme « finisher »: Boston, Londres, New York, Chicago, Berlin et Tokyo.

With a vertical drop of +1561m / -1561m, this semi-sufficient trail was for William a good preparation for the Zermatt Marathon to be held on July 7, 2024. The EXTRATRAIL LAVAUX has a demanding route marked by breathtaking views! Imagine running through vineyards with Lake Geneva below and the Alps opposite! Let’s not forget that the XTL is the only trail in Europe run through a vineyard.

There’s no denying it: William suffered during this race: being surrounded by runners much younger than him, and not being a trail specialist at all (the descents were hell for him). However, he kept up the pace throughout and was pleasantly surprised to learn that he had won his category.

As mentioned above, his next objective is the Zermatt marathon in July (13th participation) and then he will start specific preparation for the Chicago marathon on October 13, 2024, so as to close the 6 World Marathon Majors as a “finisher”: Boston, London, New York, Chicago, Berlin and Tokyo.
